Tara Devi Tample, Shimla

Tara Devi temple was built by Sen dynasty kings sometime around 1766 A.D.[1] The fort of Giri Sen is still there in Junga. According to a story which traces back to 250 years, the king Bhupendra Sen built the temple and after he had a vision in which Goddess Tara Devi asked him to install a template there so that people could get her blessings. He also installed a wooden statue of Goddess there. Later, King Balbir Sen had a vision of Goddess Tara where she asked him to install the temple on Tarav hill top. The king did the same and also erected an idol of Goddess made up of "Ashtadhatu",[4] a mix of eight precious elements.The idol was carried on an element named Shankar. It is believed that individuals who visit with unwavering devotion will have their wishes come true.

Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla

Kufri, Shimla

Kufri is a resort hill station in the district of Shimla, India. It is located 20 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No. 5(also known as Hindustan Tibet road). Kufri with NH-5, Shimla The name Kufri is derived from the word kufr meaning "lake" in the local language. Hidimba Devi Temple, Manali

Hidimba Devi Temple, locally known as Dhungari Temple, also known variously as the Hadimba Temple, is a Hindu Temple, located in Manāli, a hill station in the State of Himāchal Pradesh in north India. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, wife of Bhima, a figure in the Indian epic Mahābhārata. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar at the foot of the Himālayas. The sanctuary is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground which was worshiped as an image of the deity. The structure was built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh. Bijli Mahadev Tample, Manali

Bijli Mahadev temple is a located in Kashawri village, Kullu Valley, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located at an altitude of about 2,460 meters. The temple is one of the ancient temples in India and is dedicated to a major deity in Hinduism, god Shiva. As per Hindu legend, the Bijli Mahadev temple was built as a way to pay homage to lord Shiva after he defeated the asura (demon) named Jalandhara with his trident and saved the Kullu valley from being submerged. The temple has been in existence from ancient times, per the local inhabitants. A different version of the legend also exists, which says that lord Shiva had killed an asura named Kulanta who reached Kully from the Mathan village in Lahaul-Spiti. Kulanta took the form of a giant serpent and wanted to submerge all forms of life on the planet under water

Dharamshala
